Welcome to the website of 450 Squadron, a thriving, energetic and successful Air Cadet Squadron on the former Battle of Britain fighter station at RAF Kenley, Surrey. 450 Squadron is well respected in the community and has served local young people since 1941.

The Air Cadets is a national voluntary youth organisation aimed at air minded boys and girls between 13 and 20 years of age. We offer opportunites such as flying, gliding and camps. Most activities are free - please look around the site to learn more about us.

The website is designed to give information to non members and as a resource centre for current members.


Q - How much does it cost?

A - To participate fully costs £10 per calendar month - that includes all parade nights & Sqn activities as well as flying, gliding, shooting etc.

Q - What are the best things cadets do?
A - As well as the flying and gliding, cadets make new friends and share a great team spirit.

Q - How often do you meet?
A - We meet on Monday and Friday evenings.

Q - When do I get my uniform?
A - Normally within 4 - 6 months.

Q - Who runs an ATC Squadron?
A - The ATC is staffed by reserve RAF Officers and other ATC and civilian volunteers.
Q - Will I have to do things I don't want to?
A - No!

Q - Do I have to join the Royal Air Force in later life?
A - No.


If you are between 12 (in Yr 8) - 17 years old, you can join the ATC. You only need to be up for a challenge!
