Welcome to the website of 450 Squadron, a thriving, energetic and successful Air Cadet Squadron on the former Battle of Britain fighter station at RAF Kenley, Surrey. 450 Squadron is well respected in the community and has served local young people since 1941.
The Air Cadets is a national voluntary youth organisation aimed at air minded boys and girls between 13 and 20 years of age. We offer opportunites such as flying, gliding and camps. Most activities are free - please look around the site to learn more about us.
The website is designed to give information to non members and as a resource centre for current members.

A solo BBMF Spitfire display will take place at Kenley on Sun 20 May at 1530 hrs.
A - To participate fully costs £9 per calendar month - that includes all parade nights & Sqn activities as well as flying, gliding, shooting etc.

A - We meet on Monday and Friday evenings.

A - The ATC is staffed by reserve RAF Officers and other ATC and civilian volunteers.

*13 May: 450 Squadron competed in the Surrey Wing Inter Squadron Athletics Championships and came 3rd overall. Other notable achievements were winners in the junior boys category, 3rd in the intermediate boys, 3rd in the senior girls and 2nd in the overall boys. The 450 Sqn success streak continues!
*7 May: 16 cadets gave up their Bank Holiday Monday to attend the John Fisher School fete to help raise funds for the Squadron

*23 Mar: 6 Cadets began a 2 week visit to Florida in the United States, helping out at the International Sun 'n' Fun Air Show
*11 Mar: Almost 20 cadets gave up much of their weekend to assist at a our fund raising boot sale, making more than £1540! Well done to you all.

*22 Jan: Well done to Cadet Sullivan, who represented Surrey Wing in the Inter Wing Cross Country. He finished 20th in his category, out of more than 60 participants.
*15 Jan: The car boot sale took place in bitterly cold weather. However it was well supported by cadets, staff, committee and the public, bringing in £1322 profit. Well done to all who made it a success.
*13 Jan: 7 cadets were commended at the Surrey Wing Awards night for their achievements in the last year: CWO Stride and FS Hall (Flying Scholarship), CWO Hillam (Gold Duke of Edinburgh and Grade 1 Glider Pilot), FS Caplin, Cpl Black and Cdt Simpson (Sports), Cpl Nicolls (Nijmegen). A special mention goes to FS Hall who was this years 450 Sqn Best Cadet. Well done!

*10 Dec: EXAM RESULTS!!! Every Cadet that took examinations in the Leading, Senior & Master levels passed their subjects with flying colours. Highest scorers were FS Caplin, Cdt Belcher, Cdt Cogswell and Cdt Tailleur, all of whom attained a brilliant 96%!!
*4 Dec: More than 15 cadets assisted at the December Car Boot Sale raising funds towards the minibus appeal - Total profit was £871.56!

*5 Dec - WINGS APPEAL RESULT! Cadets from 450 Sqn raised a whopping £388.10 for the RAF Association Wings Appeal back in September. Result is just in.

*27 August - Regional Commandant Group Captain Hakin attended 450 Squadron for an informal visit. He addressed the Cadets and was very pleased with the turnout and atmosphere at the Squadron.
